Well thought I'd post this while I am sitting here patiently (not true) waiting for a certain husband get up out of the bed so I can wash my carpeting in the bedroom.  Not one of my favorite tasks, but got to be done; really never as bad as I make it in my mind and always looks so much better.
So on to more enjoyable things.  Here is the finished parrot and am pleased to how it came out as a first attempt at this type of picture.  It is pretty rough and crude in comparison to those who really do the medium and certainly can see that it will take many more hours of practice to get a more delicate touch and further develop my eye for the shading.  I do like the way the black dots add depth and shading but really like the enhancement of the colored pencil over just the stark black and white of pen/ink work to me it really makes it come alive.  This practice will lend itself well to do while watching tv or porch sitting so think I'll be able to find the time to get more of this repetition work in.  Will do a comparison for beginning of summer versus end of summer to see if there is improvement.

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you wish, love to hear any feedback and do appreciate objective eyes helping me see things I miss and have a great week.

Hello Nelvia:) I try to find out how you may have created this. Have you put first 1 million dots and then added the color? Or I understand it wrong. Was it fun to do? He is very nice. He also looks very professional. I admire you. That I already did in connection with your running and the record sitting on the veranda, but now also for making such paintings. You're really a topper. A thick ten for this handsome piece of artwork (a 10 is the highest in Holland). I find the colors beautiful but also his charisma! What's his name?

You are exactly right, pencil draw first, then erase and add in picture foundation with dots - seems exactly like 1 million. Then add in the colored pencils. Finally got my rugs cleaned and all the other chores and am racking up by porch time now - but getting too hot. Certinly rate a 10 on porch sitting - running is for tomorrow morning when no rug cleaning. Not sure of a name, I'll have to work on that. Best to you
