Tomboy -Racheal

Oh
Oh boy, sorry but took a side adventure as I still have much more prep work for my next painting, I don't know that much about horse heads and musculature so got to find some better references so I can make up what I can't see.
I have had her drawn for a while now and wanted to do her on this green mat board but thought it would be in graphite.  But just love her rosey skin tones and those sleepy eyes and knew it had to be color, so off to the races with color pencil.  Not a lot of layers available here so got to get it nailed in about 3-4 swipes and then I am locked out.  Know already I am going to have a fight with the eyes and the lips, sooooo... Not sure will make it or not but will try to go all the way to the end on this one.
Hope everyone has a great week and paint like it means something!!

Hi Nelvia:) so no horse and indian but this beautiful lady. I'm excited to see how you will handle this one. Would you like it if I give it a try in watercolor? If not please say so! The talk we had yesterday gave me so much energy. Thank you for that, I enjoyed it so much. Dear friend, have a nice day and enjoy painting. Hugs:) xx

Oh I got sidetracked because I have a lot more to study before trying the spirit painting. I know a little anal but such as it is. She has been talking to me and just says it is her time. I sent you the reference from Paint My Photo and can't wait to see you do her in watercolor. Love ya

Hi Danielle, nice to hear from you, oil on the flowers, they came out so well. Now I am loving both your pastels and your oils. Best to you

hi, wanted to say the same as Renate... no more natives .....
so let us see how this will develop. do you use only "normal" colour pencils or is there pastell/chalk as well?
all the best

Well when I drew out my horse position I realized I needed more information to make the position real, so more studying. Had to do something so started Tomboy. Right now she is all only color pencil, don't foresee pastel here unless I put in a background, :)
Thanks all for keeping me honest, I guess you really do read the stuff I write, :):):):):)

What did you think? I do read what you say! But on your photograph are some pencils which look exactly like my pastell pencils.... so like the famous Sherlock H. I concluded....

I do have pastel pencils, use them in the small places. To get lighter in pencil I do use the gel pen, white, and then can color over it.
And yes, my friend, you are like the famous detective, just figuring it out, have seen the thumbnail but need to check you newest post.
