Well my experiment is complete, I think.  I guess my head was more organized around it than I thought as it went pretty quickly once I started.  Let it sit overnight to see how I felt about it this morning and only had to add some additional things this morning, more stars and some highlights, and called it done.  Just really don't want to fuss with the things that I see wrong with it as it would only create more issues.  Rather go on and try another on as I think I really need the additional practice on the portraits themselves.  Overall though I am really happy with the nebula and I do like the colors and how the stars just seem to swirl around her.  I don't think she looks stuck on and that is really what I was looking for, trying to incorporate her into the stars, not on top of them.  What is your thought on whether or not I achieved that goal?

Well done! I think it is a complete success Nelvia :) The soft edges really help to integrate her into the nebula, all seems to be one. The light and details, the shapes in the background... terrific!

This is just fabulous Nelvia! The eyes are my favorite part - but the I always like the eyes you paint. I wonder if having a bit more of the blue show through her face would give her a bit more of that 'in' the sky look. Also, I am not sure I agree that you need more practice with portraits - she is super!

DAY 19 Noise

Noise I have noticed, now that we live out of the hard core suburbia, how much we get quiet.  I mean actual quiet, no kids, no dogs, not cars, not motorcycles, no sirens, etc. etc.  How many waves, noise carrying waves, go through our bodies every day.   Phone, radio, tv, fiber optics, microwave, etc. etc.   Can that really be good for us? Anyway, I never know what I am going to get and this was a pretty quick one since I had a big time work day, for me.   But I got some really clean windows - am really ready for Fall, wish the temperature could understand how ready I really am for Fall!!. Nicolae's Giraffe Over the years we have decided the places we like to visit and have gone back multiple times.   In this day and age I think it is uncommon that in a hotel environment the workers would have been there 10-35 years.  So friendships develop.   Each of the people we have encountered have made our stays extra special in a variety of ways.   One of the ladies that works the check in desk had a baby last year.   Since we were unable to go in November we just saw her when we were in DC.   He is now 14 months, and in love with giraffes.  She has a yellow and gray nursery decor and I wanted to do a giraffe.   Wasn't sure if it should be the "kiddie" kind, but thought he might outgrow it.   So I decided to do one semi realistic so that he wouldn't outgrow it right away.  Aren't they just the strangest looking animal?
