Too much working and not enough playing time as it's been really long days at work.  Had to do a small presentation and then go through longer ones with some one else so has taken my energy.   But got to paint a little today.  Was supposed to be warm here and should have been porch time, but ... not exactly.   But at least got some outside time this morning and some of the garden in shape for Spring.  Set ahead our clocks tonight and I always miss that hour they take away from me but do enjoy it's light longer at night when I get home.
So got a few more of my koi in.  Always get impatient with water colors, and especially working on this canvas, as the dry time is a lot longer than I am used to and I want to get on with it and end up either blurring colors together or pulling color up.  Am waiting now for the top koi to dry to I can better define the dark coloration.  Am going to have to work on this canvas some more to get the feel for it.  Like the fact that you don't get hard edges and that you can move color, but there definitely is a technique needed to work on it.  Am probably not going about this correctly, think I should put in all the fish and then do the water and then the reflections, will try to do that tomorrow more, but end up putting in the water so I can see if my fish colors are bright enough.  Will definitely have to dull some of them down, but will get these all in and then compare against each other.  Still am not sure how the heck I am going to do the reflection, tried a little one by the yellow fins and might leave that but it won't work over the fish themselves, so still thinking about the opaque water colors.
Thanks for stopping by and hoping you are beginning to be able to judge if I am going to get movement in this composition - that's the goal.  Hope you are enjoying making some art this weekend.

Dear Nelvia , it's nice that you have time to work on koi! Here it rains for days, but not cold. Maybe one of these mornings the linden trees of the road, will have the leaves ....
The watercolor painting on surfaces where I can easily remove,  at the end confused me ideas
more than the watercolor "normal" on paper. So I look with curiosity your results!
I wish you a good weekend (here the law deprive us an hour, the day before Easter!)! Hugs, Rita.
Hi Nelvia,
Looks like you are off to a great start. We are both working on patience with our art. I am waiting for pottery pieces to dry in the studio.
We have had a beautiful sunny day here today!!!
I hope you have a great weekend.

Have lost our hour and hate it, even the computer was confused. Glad that Spring is in the air there as I know you are tired of the cold. This watercolor canvas pulls up more color and I might be using too much water, may have to do glazes with more of a dry brush. Will keep on going.

Hi C, lucky you to have sun and think you have snow, must be pretty. What's happening in the kiln, guess I better check. Not sure I like where this is progressing, but I am learning and will evaluate as I get closer to the end. Hate this part when all is so unsure.
