Day 23 30 Day Challenge Coral Reef Print
Coral Reef
10"x8"
Acrylic/Dendritic Print
Ellen from PMP got me started on making hand-pulled prints. So yesterday I did a new technique. Ok, yes, this is yesterday's print that was done in Hookers Green but reads as black on the white paper. This print was done on canvas paper so it has a coating on it which was great for the print part but really didn't help me put the acrylic fish on it. This also ticks off the box where I had to do something with fins for the 30 day challenge.
I hand-pulled several of these prints, because once you get going you get hooked on continuing to print to see what you will get. It is totally random depending on the color and thickness of the paint you put onto the glass. Next I had to let them totally dry and then try to decide how the heck could I use them. So again in my nightly insomnia moments I decided to try to figure out something it resembles and then put a painted image on top of the print. So I have several more of these planned that could be birds in trees or water, koi fish, an oriental themed feel with a tea cup, etc.
This one of course reminded me of brain coral and so I tried to add the fish - definitely not my strong suit, but guess like everything you just have to practice more. I do think that this technique will have some feet and am looking forward to trying the several other projects that I have planned using other prints I did yesterday.
Thanks for stopping by.
