Day 18 30 Day Challenge Breakout mouse pastel

I did this little guy, a super reference photo from Max Hemingway of PMP, back in 2014, but with his buddy and a cat that was asleep, or was he?  That was done in graphite and again I did a little of the tromp o'loeil effect.  Not sure but do you think I should put a little shadow under his feet to make it appear even more that he icon the outside of the mat?

This time he was done in pan pastels, but he is still trying to get away.  I kind of like these little guys as they have a bunch of personality and might try the larger painting again but all in color this time.  Boy I can think of all the things I have to do, want to do, can do and I just get tired.  But for now I am off to racking leaves off the yard.  Somehow I got blessed with the entire neighborhoods leaves and I can hear my grass gasping.

I love both of these! He is too cute... is he reaching for a crumb of cheese?? I think a shadow would be super cute. He is a sweety as is though :)

I really like tromp o'loeil and want to try to do a few more of them. They are cute on paper, but I don't want to see them in real life.

Thanks Nancy, am going to add it in as I think it should be there, might even help to place him more outside the interior frame of the mat. Hope all is going well for you.

As I said I like the tromp o'loeil effect but would have to study up on it a bit more. There is a graphite artist, J D Hillberry , who does excellent work and has written a book. Might have to reread it.

DAY 19 Noise

Noise I have noticed, now that we live out of the hard core suburbia, how much we get quiet.  I mean actual quiet, no kids, no dogs, not cars, not motorcycles, no sirens, etc. etc.  How many waves, noise carrying waves, go through our bodies every day.   Phone, radio, tv, fiber optics, microwave, etc. etc.   Can that really be good for us? Anyway, I never know what I am going to get and this was a pretty quick one since I had a big time work day, for me.   But I got some really clean windows - am really ready for Fall, wish the temperature could understand how ready I really am for Fall!!. Nicolae's Giraffe Over the years we have decided the places we like to visit and have gone back multiple times.   In this day and age I think it is uncommon that in a hotel environment the workers would have been there 10-35 years.  So friendships develop.   Each of the people we have encountered have made our stays extra special in a variety of ways.   One of the ladies that works the check in desk had a baby last year.   Since we were unable to go in November we just saw her when we were in DC.   He is now 14 months, and in love with giraffes.  She has a yellow and gray nursery decor and I wanted to do a giraffe.   Wasn't sure if it should be the "kiddie" kind, but thought he might outgrow it.   So I decided to do one semi realistic so that he wouldn't outgrow it right away.  Aren't they just the strangest looking animal?
