Actually I have learned so much during this challenge and somehow they always free me up to play and explore. I have also found a new site for pastels and, since I am studying seriously with them again, I might actually sign up to take the video courses. Not the same as a workshop but actual instruction from someone who you can listen to as opposed to just interpreting words and pictures from a book.
This print really was more of just a background, I didn't see anything distinct to lead me in any particular direction, so I decided to try another botanical print. There is a bit of everything in this print, acrylic, color pencil and pastel. Just throwing it all out there to see how it looks and if it can get me to what I see in my head. For the yellow berries I underpinned a thick plain white first, to actually block out the texture and make it solid, and then put the yellow over the top to see if I could get brighter colors than I have on the other prints I tried to overpaint. Think it worked a bit better and that might have to be what I do going forward.
Thanks much for stopping by.
