Day 29 30 Day Challenge Berries dendritic print
Oh yeah, we are close, I can almost see the end in sight. DAY 29 Just going to have to do one more day and then it is all over but the shouting and resuming normal things. I think I might do the end collage this time as it may tell me something, especially if I overlay the views/reactions on top of it. The house is jumping for joy as it will actually get cleaned - well, maybe, let's not get too excited. I also have been working on a commission and am about half way completed. The challenge actually has worked to an advantage as I haven't been stressing over it too much. Fighting with it I have, but think I might be back under control somewhat now. Since it is a gift I can't show it until April.
Actually I have learned so much during this challenge and somehow they always free me up to play and explore. I have also found a new site for pastels and, since I am studying seriously with them again, I might actually sign up to take the video courses. Not the same as a workshop but actual instruction from someone who you can listen to as opposed to just interpreting words and pictures from a book.
This print really was more of just a background, I didn't see anything distinct to lead me in any particular direction, so I decided to try another botanical print. There is a bit of everything in this print, acrylic, color pencil and pastel. Just throwing it all out there to see how it looks and if it can get me to what I see in my head. For the yellow berries I underpinned a thick plain white first, to actually block out the texture and make it solid, and then put the yellow over the top to see if I could get brighter colors than I have on the other prints I tried to overpaint. Think it worked a bit better and that might have to be what I do going forward.
Thanks much for stopping by.

For my alcohol inks I'm using the Tim Holtz brand. They sell those here locally at JoAnn's and Michaels so they are easy to get cheaply with a coupon. I haven't tried any other brands, but I did watch a video by someone who said that if you mix the brands sometimes one brand will dominate the other because they are a bit thicker. Apparently the Peabo brand does that. Just saying....they are fun. lol
